TELEVISION AND AUDIO VISUAL TECHNOLOGY

Audio and Visual Technology and application has been, and continues as an essential communications tool allied to many industries. These include: broadcast radio and television, film, the music industry, corporate, medical, education, advertising and entertainment. Each of these industries requires specifically trained experts that meet unique requirements. The type of people needed can be put into three categories: Production, Technical and operations. However, technology advancement has changed the work functions of practitioners, where duties can overlap, and in some cases where all three functions (production, operation and technical) are performed by one person.

Some important questions
Where can I study?
How do I know what courses to do?
Am I cut out for this?
These are very important questions to ask. There are a multitude of full-time and part-time courses in each of the audio visual and film disciplines, as well as graphic design and photography. These courses are very expensive and one needs to make informed decisions before committing. This is especially true if you are a school leaver or new to the world of multimedia. So this is where "In the Directors Chair" comes in to the picture. The industry (AV, Broadcast, Corporate and Multimedia) is keen to help those who help themselves. People who display passion, intent, self-motivation and are proactive, are ideal candidates for a career in the audio visual industry. This course gives valuable working knowledge which includes business principles essential to the industry.
